Satyananda Yoga Centre was founded on the sacred grounds of AKHADA at Ganga Darshan on the night of Diwali.

On the night of Diwali 2005, A special evening Sadhana was performed at AKHADA in the presence of Swami Niranjanananda SaraswatiAfter the evening special Havan at AKHADA, Swami Niranjan was strolling in ANANDA. Jeyagopal (Now known as Sn Shivarishi) approached Swamiji and expressed the need to start a yoga Centre in Chennai that would be a dedicated centre for imparting SATYANANDA YOGA!

Swamiji was delighted to know about the plan and right away gave the name “Satyananda Yoga Centre”. We have had the most auspicious opportunities to host programs of Swami Niranjanananda Saraswati, Swami Satyasangananda Saraswati, Swami Arundhati Saraswati, Swami Anandkumar Saraswati, Swami Nirmalananda Saraswati, Swami Atmabhishek Saraswati, in the last fifteen years!

We will be completing fifteen years of SEVA this Diwali 2020

More than a million people were touched by the thousands of initiatives taken by volunteers and teachers in the last fifteen years. We appreciate and thank each and every one of them.
