Healers
Doctors stand at the junction between Humans and God. Day in and day out they keep saving drifting lives and sufferings of millions.
In this process these healing hands themselves go through tough times of stress & grinding. This takes a toll on these healers, draining them. Keeping this in mind we at Satyananda Yoga Centre, Chennai wish to plan a program to heal the healers.
In this program we wish to give an overview to doctors as to how Yoga as a powerful tool can energize and empower them.
Satyananda Yoga itself has its roots from a Doctor named Kuppuswamy from Pattamadai, Tirunelveli who is our Paramaguru. He is none other than Swami Sivananda, the father of modern Yoga, who made the current day yoga practices accessible to all across the globe. Hailing from a small village near Tirunelveli, he practiced allopathic medicine till 40 years of his life before embarking upon his yogic journey.
Following his footsteps under the guidance of Sannyasi Shivarishi, Satyananda Yoga centre has been reaching out to thousands of people across the country, offering the gift of yoga.
About 10 modern day doctors who have been students, teachers & disciples in our centre who moderated the session. Dr.Elanthirayan, Dr.Aravindan, Dr.Ravishankar, Dr.Balamurugan, Dr.Soundarya, Physiotherapist Padmasini shared their experiences and inferences from practicing Satyananda Yoga over the last many years.
Considering the challenges faced by today’s physicians, the doctors team in our centre has designed this program to address various issues concerning the doctors in their daily life, both professional and personal.
Sannyasi Shivarishi addressed the participants, took them through a session of practical introspection, guided them through the process of understanding the limitations in health and fitness. Doctors realized that there is an urgent need to take corrective actions.
Doctors understood and took responsibility to learn, practice and improve their health, energy and mental health. Participants were given an experience of Yoga Nidra, a signature practice of the Satyananda Yoga Tradition. They returned home with a refreshed mind, renewed understanding and resolve to bring positive changes in their life experience.
